Todd Borg and his wife moved from Minnesota to Lake Tahoe in 1990, the result of one too many vacations to the "Big Lake in the Sky." They had taken annual trips to "Ski Country" and enjoyed the mountains so much they decided they would someday live in a land of three dimensions. Emerald Bay with Fannette Island

Minnesota is a beautiful state with thousands of lakes and maple forests that turn so many intense colors in the fall that Vermont gets nervous. Nevertheless, Lake Tahoe is so spectacular that words cannot pretend to communicate the beauty of the second highest big lake in the world. The pull of Lake Tahoe brought Todd and his wife to the west.

While Todd had written fiction before (24 short stories, reviews and articles published in quarterlies, magazines and corporate newsletters), living with his artist wife in Lake Tahoe gave him the idea for an art-loving, detective protagonist who lived in Tahoe. The result was Owen McKenna, an ex-cop with a tragic background who moved from The City (San Francisco) to the mountains to study art and earn a slightly more genteel living as a private detective.

Todd submitted his first Owen McKenna novel to a New York literary agent who took him on as a client. Thriller Press (see thrillerpress.com) will be the publisher.

Borg's first novel in the Owen McKenna series is TAHOE DEATHFALL which will be published August 1st, 2001. The second novel in the series, TAHOE BLOWUP, will be published one month later on September 1st, 2001.
